Origin of TWTM

To cope with the approaching of knowledge economy, the Industrial Development Bureau (IDB) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) has specially establish Taiwan Technology Marketplace and its information network in November of 2001 in order to direct the development of technology transaction service industry of Taiwan. As such, it can help resolve the handicap of “provision of holistic service function” found on the domestic technology transaction market and the dilemma of “ineffective circulation of intellectual property.” Also, TWTM can actively make use of counseling and matching mechanism through the integration service center to combine technologically added service provided by the members of the technology transaction service industry, thus helping the industry to master novel opportunity and enhance enterprise competitiveness.


TWTM can be reckoned as the virtual technology transaction plat-form ever established in Taiwan . Through the setting of its information network, it can convenience the information flow between the demand supply parties of the technology. TWTM has, since 2002, helped to sponsor large-scale transaction exhibition with Other organizations, while participant institutes include more than 20 government authorities, entity organization, and overseas Technology institutes. It is hoped that the flow and utility of intellectual property rights can be well facilitated through the transaction and exhibition. Besides, TWTM has also sponsored irregular business presentations on various areas of expertise to help owner of technology to promote and market their R & D results. Initially, preliminary contact is carried by the two parties, and then TWTM will recommend suitable intellectual property service establishment to assist the two parties for further cooperation. In addition, its website has also collected the nfo rmation of domestic intellectual property service establishment, and it is hoped that domestic vendor can make use of their help in application of intellectual property rights, added value, and circulation, making them to be most competitive.
